Health union says women are the present and future of the sector

The Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux (APTS) celebrated International Women’s Day by highlighting that the future is feminist.

The pandemic has shed light on the issues within the health and social services sector, APTS national spokesperson Danny Roulx said in a press release. There have been budget cuts going on for several years, he continued, adding women make up most of the sector.

“More than 86 per cent of the professionals and technicians working in health and social services are women. We need to recognize their work so that we can finally exit the pandemic while making sure that people have easy access to high-quality public health” he said.
