High bacteria levels close two beaches

While Friday is looking to be particularly warm and sunny, people won’t be able to take a dip in the lake to cool down at two beaches in the Eastern Townships.
On Thursday, Aug. 12, Quebec’s Ministry of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change announced in a press release the prohibition of swimming access at Douglass Beach, a municipal beach located on Brome Lake, and Camp Livingstone’s beach on Lake Lovering, after high bacteria levels were found in the water earlier this week.
