Hijinks and good humour run rampant at 23rd green auction

Auctioneer Brian Barrie with his cornermen Pete Cote and Patrick Redburn greeted a full house at the 23rd Green Auction held last Saturday in Richmond. The tables were overflowing with items of all kinds up for grabs. Home cookery was a feature at this year's Green Auction; pies, cakes, rolls, breads and of course, fudge, all most all decorated with a bit of 'Irish'. Other items included sparkling scarves and jewelry, plants and household items, lots of baskets filled with a wide variety of items, some not 'mentionable. The crowd arrived early and one could say, was in a party mood as starting time approached. Proceeds are earmarked for the Legion Branch 15's projects and good works.
