By Matthew McCully – This past summer, members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #48 and local supporters gathered at the Bury Armoury Community Centre on Saturday afternoon to mark the 85th anniversary of the local branch. During the ceremony, a special plaque was unveiled commemorating the local men who fought in the battle of Hong Kong during World War II. This past weekend a special ceremony was held dedicating the Hong Kong commemorative plaque at Legion Branch 95 in Smiths Falls, Ontario. See full story in the Tuesday, April 30 edition of The Record.
