The Hope Community Church held a grand opening for its newly completed sanctuary on Sunday morning, followed by the community’s annual block party.
“We had such a great turnout,” said Lead Pastor Hudson Taylor Wells, explaining that the count came out to about 317 people at the morning service and more than 500 in the afternoon. “It’s probably the highest attendance we’ve ever had.” Wells said that the Church has been seeing a steady increase in population over the last two years. “People are finding their home here,” he said. “We’re finally now using the entire building and quite pleased with how it’s turned out,” said Paul McLean, the building manager. “It’s definitely another big step done.” See full story in the Friday, Sept. 13 edition of The Record
