Horizon pour Elle women’s shelter seeking help with new space

The Horizon pour Elle women’s shelter in Cowansville, which has been working for more than thirty years to provide safety and security for women who are victims of domestic violence in the Brome-Missisquoi area, is getting ready to move. Having already acquired new land to settle on, the shelter’s team is now looking to raise $100,000 to build a new building that will meet modern building codes and offer the best services available to its vulnerable clientele. “We can’t extend, so we have to start from scratch,” said Sylvie Charbonneau, President of the shelter’s board of directors, explaining that the team is already working with a resource group and an architect to plan out the new space.
