Hospital numbers still rising across Quebec

There were 2,381 people in hospitals across Quebec with COVID-19 as of Wednesday’s report, an increase of 100 compared to where things stood on Tuesday. The number of people in hospital specifically for their Covid increased by 42, meanwhile going from 939 to 981.

The province recorded 101 people in intensive care with the virus, the same number as there were on Tuesday. The number of people in ICUs because of the virus decreased by one, going from 65 to 64.

Quebec recorded another 26 Covid-related deaths, for a total of 14,740 since the start of the pandemic.

The number of health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons increased slightly to 10,833.

In the Eastern Townships the number of people in hospital with COVID-19 increased to 146 with four in intensive care. The number of deaths linked to the virus in the region also increased by five, to a total of 568.
