Hundreds get colourful for inaugural Cougar Run

It was all sunshine, laughter and colourful rainbows around the Champlain College-Lennoxville campus this weekend.

On May 6, Champlain College-Lennoxville held its first edition of The Cougar Run. The family-friendly 5 kilometre race/walk around campus welcomed more than 100 participants of all ages. The participants were showered with colourful powder as they ran, jogged, or walked through the various colour stations.

Landon Lian Enns crossed the finish line ahead of everyone else, averaging a pace of three minutes and 44 seconds per kilometre for the race. He said he was very appreciative of all the support he received throughout the race.

“There was constant encouragement. Every colour station I passed, people were cheering me on. It was a great environment,” he said. “It was really well organized and I’m glad I was a part of it. I would definitely participate again.”

Also participating in the race was Laura Emilie Cyr with her daughter Nellie, pushing a stroller. She said she’s happy to have participated and is looking forward to the next race.

“It was a challenge and we had a lot of fun,” she said. “It’s fun to see the people in the community of Lennoxville coming out for a good time. I hope we’re going to do this again next year.”
