Hundreds of bikes sold at annual sale

It was another successful bike sale for the Annual Foire Aux Vélos.

By using recycled bike parts and giving them new life, the annual Foire Aux Vélos put on by Estrie Aide offered families the opportunity to purchase second-hand bikes that were fixed by mechanics for an affordable price. More than 400 bikes were available with sizes ranging from toddler, youth to adult.

While the 11th edition of the Foire Aux Vélos didn’t officially start until 9 a.m., some families were eager to get in line in order to have a larger choice of bikes to choose from.

“We got here around 7:30 a.m.,” said Alexandre Maclure, who came with his wife and two kids. “We’re super happy. The kids got to choose their own bikes, which made them even happier.”

Maclure highlighted the fact he was thrilled to be able to walk away with three reliable bikes for such an affordable price.

According to Michel Lesage, Executive Director of Estrie Aide, the goal of the bike sale has always been exactly that.
