Hydro-Québec asks snowmobilers to respect private land this March break

In anticipation of March break off-road adventures, Hydro-Québec reminds snowmobile and all-terrain vehicle enthusiasts to respect private property.

Only 1 per cent of the land crossed by high-voltage power lines is owned by Hydro-Québec, contrary to common assumptions. Generally, the land is occupied under authorizations or easements with the landowner.

Hydro-Québec installations often cross agricultural or resort lands. The corporation discourages accessing paths and lands blocked by barriers or other signage, and asks off-roaders to be respectful and keep noise down.
