The City of Waterloo is actively searching for a work of art on permanent display in Denise-Lauzière Park. The Emperor, featuring a metal eagle, was created by artist Joseph Bergot. The work, part of a unique collection, was stolen from the park on Nov. 21.

The City of Waterloo is offering a $500 reward to anyone who can find the work and the person who stole it.

“We are appealing to the power of citizens in this matter,” Waterloo Mayor Jean-Marie Lachapelle said in a press release. “We are working very hard, the City of Waterloo, the organizations and the citizens, to improve and revitalize our living spaces. They belong to everyone, so it’s everyone’s business to take care of them,” Lachapelle said.
