Mélanie Joly was in Cookshire Tuesday morning to meet with a group of local workers in the field of tourism. The round table discussion, which ran nearly an hour past its planned end time, left Joly impressed with the work being done in the region and inspired to share examples of local programs in the rest of the country. “I was very impressed, the Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie said following Tuesday’s meeting. “There are ideas I am hearing here for the first time after months of scratching my head.” See full story in the Wednesday, Jan. 16 edition of The Record.
