Country Living in Canada may have been the theme of the village of Hatley’s 110th annual Canada Day Celebrations, but the word of the day was HOT.

With thermometers reaching into the mid-thirties Celcius before taking humidity into account, and a bright July sun beating down on the open common, shade and the tight confines of the climate-controlled community hall quickly became highly sought-after commodities for the crowds who came out to celebrate their country. Despite the heat, however, visitors still lined Main Street en-masse in the lead-up to 11 a.m. to watch the annual parade. Published in the Tuesday, July 3 edition of The Record.
