By Steve Blake – The organizers of the Knowlton Film Festival have added a twist in this, the second edition.  They have added a short film competition open to the public. The winner will earn $2,000. Second place is worth $1,000, and third place will get $500. The prize money is provided by the Town of Brome Lake. Last year’s festival was such a hit, organizer John Griffin said, that he, Nicholas Pynes and Michele Bazin decided to do it again.
“It was quite a success,” Griffin said. “The place was packed.” The place was Theatre Lac Brome, which screened films for four days in August last year.
The festival this year will be from Thursday, August 22 through Sunday, August 25, again at Theatre Lac Brome. It will offer an “eclectic selection of recently released films that haven’t played much in the Eastern Townships,” he said. See full story in the Feb. 12 edition of the Brome County News.
