Gavin McKay, the coach of the high-performance athletes at Knowlton Rowing, says 2018 has been “a really interesting year.” Three rowers at the Knowlton-based club have competed in World Championships in five international events, and they have done well. Gabby Smith won the silver medal in her first senior competition, a World Cup race in Lucerne, Switzerland, McKay said Friday. Marilou Duvernay Tardif finished fifth in the under 23 (U-23) age group in the Poland.
Sherbrooke native Anna Burnotte finished sixth in U-19 in the Czech Republic. “These were all first-time experiences,” McKay said. See full story in the Tuesday, September 25 edition of the Brome County News.
