The transition of ownership began this week at Owl’s Head following the sale of the ski hill to a group of investors led by Magog businessman Gilles Bélanger. Owl’s Head was first opened by Fred Korman and his wife Lillian in December of 1965. The new owners of the resort will have big shoes to fill. Over the years, the Kormans have been known for their generosity within the community. The hill was the first to host an adaptive ski program in the area, initiated by Peter Treacy in 1995, allowing people with physical disabilities to enjoy the slopes. For over 35 years, the Kormans have contributed to the Mansonville Opti-Ski program to make skiing affordable for local youth and families.
