Sherbrooke MNA Christine Labrie is launching a second call for projects for the Fonds d’investissement citoyen. The vote will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the amphitheatre of the Montcalm School, located at 2050 Portland Boulevard. All residents of the riding of Sherbrooke will be invited to discover the projects submitted and vote for their five favourite projects. Some adjustments have been made since the first round of the distribution of funds. The second edition will see the addition of the vote of young people, who will be able to support a project they would like to see realized in their community. “I think it’s important for young people to have a say in what’s going on in their communities. Introducing them to democracy early increases their chances of becoming engaged citizens. So we decided to create the ‘coup de cœur des jeunes’. It’s simple: young people between the ages of 5 and 17 whose parents appear on the list of electors for the electoral division of Sherbrooke will receive a special ballot on which they can enter their Coup de cœur project.
