The Lake Massawippi Conservation Club placed nearly 1,000 sterile rainbow trout into the lake last weekend, as part of an annual contribution that started four years ago.
According to the club’s president, Philip Church, the contribution is normally meant to support Pêche blanche, a yearly activity in March that encourages children and families to spend time outside and learn how to fish.
“It was a great day to get people out, but seeing as we don’t want to have any problems with too many people in the same area we didn’t do any activities this year,” said Church.
