Decades after the project was first proposed, the shovels are in the ground for the last segment of the extension to Highway 410 around Lennoxville. The work was announced Thursday morning in a press-release jointly issued by the federal and provincial governments. “I am pleased to highlight the start of this important work on Highway 410, which makes up the final step in the extension of this key infrastructure for the Estrie region,” reads the statement issued by François-Philippe Champagne, Federal Minister of Infrastructure and Communities. “This project will not only benefit the regional economy, but will also improve the safety of users and facilitate their travel.” See full story in the Friday, July 19 edition of The Record.
