Launch of the 22nd edition of the OSEntreprendre Estrie Challenge

In early December Alain Vanden Eynden, owner of Chocolats Vanden Eynden and this year’s spokesperson, kicked off the 22nd edition of the Défi OSEntreprendre Estrie. The challenge is a movement in Quebec that promotes the entrepreneurial initiatives of more than 60,000 participants; young people from elementary school to university as well as business creators. It is spreading and taking root at the local, regional and provincial levels. Across Quebec, more than 350 officers, including Vanden Eynden, are in charge are mobilizing in the 17 different regions to highlight projects originating in their communities. In business for 33 years with his wife, Vanden Eynden is well known in the region, particularly in Memphrémagog where he has been in business since 1986. Initially owner of the Panier à pains for 18 years, he decided to sell his business to concentrate on the production and distribution of chocolates by founding a chocolate factory that bears his name in 2004. Since then, he has expanded his factory, located in Orford, and opened a boutique on Principale Street in Magog. However, this journey has not made him forget the challenges of going into business.
