This coming Sunday’s service at Saint-George’s Anglican Church in Lennoxville will be a little more grand than usual, as it marks the beginning of a project to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Parish of Lennoxville.
According to Edward Simonton, Vicar General and Archdeacon of Quebec, Sunday’s service will serve as an opportunity to begin recognizing the significant milestone for the local Anglican community, both in terms of ceremony and as an official start to a bicentennial fundraising appeal.
Simonton made a point of explaining that it is the church community, and not the Saint-George’s building, that is entering its third century.
