As the annual Lennoxville Curling Club’s annual Bonspiel came to a close, curlers had their eyes on the pies.
Following a week-long curling tournament which welcomed 44 teams, a group of approximately 100 people who competed in the club’s annual Pie Bonspiel were piped from the club to the United Church for a roast beef dinner and all-you-can-eat pie.
This year, the club set a goal of having 100 homemade pies for its 100th anniversary.
Alison Kavanagh was tasked with the responsibility of organizing and ensuring the club would have enough pies to reach their goal.
“We had to push because people aren’t making pies as much as they used to,” said Kavanagh. “It was hard, but we got there.”
