The John Deere dealership at 9 Queen Street in Lennoxville was destroyed by a fire in the early hours of Thursday morning. According to Robert Loignon, Marketing Director with the JLD-Laguë John Deere franchise, the alarms went off just after 1 a.m. and emergency crews remained on-site fighting the blaze until after 6 a.m. No one was injured in the blaze. “We don’t have any clue of what caused the fire,” Loignon said, noting that Fire investigators had still not been able to enter the building at midday. Despite the lack of information, though, a quick glance was enough to show that the building was a complete loss. “Looking into the building from the outside, we cannot even recognize what was there.” The marketing director said that he won’t have an official estimate of the extent of the damages until the site and equipment can be inspected more closely, but he estimated that the losses could easily be in the millions.
