Local hidden gems: The Pioneer Trail

When I asked my friend to join me in exploring the life-size silhouette character cut-outs in the Coaticook, Memphremagog, and New Hampshire regions, she was immediately interested. “To be completely honest, I’ve drove around here for years but I never knew what those characters were about,” said Renee Rosteius, who lives in Sherbrooke but often travels throughout the Townships due to work.
With local gas prices finally dropping to under $2/litre, she agreed to accompany me to learn about the mysterious figures. A colleague from The Record informed me they are part of the Pioneer Trail, a 230km historical circuit that features 25 sculptures portraying people who have left their mark on the area.
