By Matthew McCully – Described by locals as a lifelong giver, Margaret “Peggy” Munkittrick will turn 100 on Jan.31. A special celebration has been planned for Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Grand Hall at Grace Village Pavilion for community members who would like to stop by and wish her a happy birthday. “I’m amazed I arrived at 100,” Munkittrick said, in an interview earlier this week. “I’ve had a very happy life.” Many in the area know Peggy and her late husband Harold as Townships community builders. Peggy and Harold were among the original board members when Grace Christian Home first opened over 60 years ago. See full story in the Friday, Jan. 18 edition of The Record.
