Magog-based design company delivers reusable N99 masks

A polymer development and design company in Magog, eLab, is one of four companies to participate in the creation of a reusable respirator for healthcare professionals.
While the N95 respirator remains a pillar among the personal protective equipment (PPE) used throughout the pandemic, eLab and its partners decided to focus on the N99, which carries a 99 per cent filtration efficiency against airborne particles.
But they wanted to create something more environmentally friendly. According to Olivier Lacombe, eLab’s co-founder and president, although the N95 mask is wildly popular, it’s a one-shot. The goal was to create a high-level mask that could be washed multiple times.
