A Sherbrooke woman got quite a scare Sunday evening when she encountered a stranger in the corridor of her Belvédère St. S. apartment building who threatened her with a ax. The ax-wielding man the chased the woman back to her apartment, where she was able to call police.
Police set up a security perimeter around the building on their arrival at the scene and were able to apprehend the 56 year-old suspect, who is well-known to police.
The suspect will appear in court Tuesday in Sherbrooke courthouse to face of charges of assault and breach of court-mandated commitments.
