March for missing and murdered indigenous women and girls in Lennoxville Friday

This coming Friday, October 4, the Comité de la Marche mondiale des Femmes – Estrie and Bishop’s University’s Indigenous Cultural Alliance will be holding a march and vigil to mark the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Beginning at 6 p.m. those interested in marching are invited to gather under the gazebo in Lennoxville’s Centennial Park, where a few speeches will be made before the group sets out for the Bishop’s Campus at 6:30 p.m. “We wanted the march to be accessible,” said Marianita Hamel, communications agent with ConcertAction Femmes Estrie, one of the groups that makes up the planning committee, when asked why this particular route was chosen.
