A milk truck turned over in the roundabout south of Lennoxville on Monday morning, sending its driver to hospital with minor injuries and causing traffic disruptions within the borough for a large part of the day.
According to Martin Carrier, spokesperson for the Sherbrooke Police, the truck turned over around 9:30 a.m. and although its contents mostly did not spill, the work to transfer the milk and remove the overturned vehicle still took several hours. While that work took place, traffic was directed in alternating directions through the immediate area by Transport Ministry workers, although the majority of incoming vehicles were being redirected as much as possible at other nearby intersections.
“It happens often,” Carrier said, noting that this is far from the first large vehicle to turn over within the roundabout.
