The Bishop’s Gaiters had a busy weekend with overall positive results. The women’s rugby team headed down to Montreal on Saturday, Sept. 23, and tied 31-31 with the Carabins, their first result in the RSEQ conference since October 2009. Coach Tom Whyld celebrated fullback Erica Scott’s athleticism after she scored four of the team’s five tries and kicked three conversions. The tie stirred great emotion for the Gaiters, recovering from their 135-0 loss against Université de Laval last weekend. The women’s rugby team (0-3-1) will face the McGill Martlets (0-4-0) next Friday at 4:30 p.m. as part Bishop’s homecoming celebrations.
