The City of Sherbrooke and the University of Sherbrooke announced a plan on Tuesday to register Mont Bellevue Park as an official nature preserve with the provincial environment ministry. When completed, the process will see Sherbrooke’s largest public park, which the City and the university share ownership of, permanently protected from further development. “I have always said that Mont Bellevue is a jewel,” said Université District Councillor Paul Gingues, highlighting the importance of the mountain for the local community.”It is rare for a city to have such a treasure within its limits.” See full story in the Wednesday, October 31 edition of The Record.
