More charges laid after La Marquise stand-off

By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – Maxime Vanier, 30, and Roxanne Lapointe, 27, appeared before Judge Hélène Fabi on Wednesday, Oct. 31 following the La Marquise motel altercation on Oct. 11. They have been accused of committing a robbery with a firearm, discharging a firearm, extortion, and assault. This is their second time in court, as they have been accused of other acts of violence beforehand. The mid-October event required the involvement of the Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) tactical intervention squad and the partial closure of Wellington Sud and Queen Street.
