Although pandemic restrictions were already well in place at this time last year, this coming Sunday will mark a first Mother’s Day for many families with children born over the course of 2020. With “isolation” and “social distance” being major themes in everyone’s lives since March of last year, The Record took the time to check in with some new mothers, and grandmothers in the area to get a sense of the ups and downs of newborn life in the age of COVID-19.
“The biggest low has been not being able to share her with anyone,” said Dawn Copping, whose daughter Evelyn was born in May of 2020.
