The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was The moose
By Lawrence Belanger
The moose in Waterville near the Capelton Mine at the corner of QR-143 and QR-108 was still there as of Thursday afternoon. There was quite the discussion in the newsroom about the moose this entire week, with two distinct camps forming between those of us who thought she was just vibing, and those in the office who thought she was sick. At this point, I’m not sure what to think, besides that I should go check out this moose after I finish the day’s writing.
I know Waterville isn’t a city, but it stands to reason that as long as Sherbrooke, Magog, and other sizeable municipalities continue to build car-centric transportation and single-family, detached housing that sprawls into their environments, that animals like this moose will appear more and more in ours. Let’s keep our distance and trust Secours Animal Estrie to monitor her health.
