The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was Food Prices.

I am very thankful that I only have one mouth to feed.
Well, two, technically, but one of them could snarfle up a full meal eating garbage off the street if need be, so just one mouth that I need to buy groceries for.
Then again, with predatory pricing practices in place forcing people to buy in bulk or pay a penalty, I might save money if I invited a few friends over for dinner.
But as atrocious as these food prices are, I hope this becomes a learning moment for consumers.
I spent years paying an arm and a leg for chicken breasts, only to later realize how much further an entire chicken could stretch, or how much cheaper and more flavourful the thighs are.
I used to buy groceries for the person I hoped to become rather than who I was. So wasteful.
