My Take – By Aiden Wilson

If you’re a jacked-up six-foot athlete with more money lining your pockets in a year than most see in a decade, shouldn’t you be able to fight your own battles? Why does the league feel the need to stockpile money so they can dig their players out like a rich parent bailing out their spoiled child? The only reason they can dodge the repercussions of their actions (a luxury we laymen could never afford) is because of their value to those raking in the cash. But if you’re expected to be some of the most mentally and physically capable people the sport has to offer, should you not also be expected to be the most accountable for your behaviour? However, saving funds for the inevitability of them doing something heinous shows that they expect for them to fail more so than to succeed at being proper.
