My Take: By Arianna Myers

I do not agree with the Quebec government’s plan to make a vaccine passport mandatory for accessing gyms, concerts, bars, team sports, festivals, and other places and events.
I am not opposed to vaccines, in fact I’ve received my first dose and plan on getting my second one as soon as possible, but I do not think that it is ethical or constitutional for the government to mandate vaccines on citizens.
Besides, why force people to get vaccinated when over 70 per cent of the population in Quebec has already received at least one dose?
While I do understand that there is still space for improvement, particularly among the younger generation, I believe that the government should try other means before making vaccines mandatory.
Personally, I think that the Quebec government should use public health messages to spread awareness of the importance of being vaccinated.
