Eight Hockey Canada junior players took part in an alleged assault. The organization’s reaction was to pay off the victim to keep this incident silent, using membership fees collected from across the country. Money that comes from the pockets of Canadians just trying to play the sport they love.
Hockey Canada knew what it was doing. I don’t believe the organization would consider paying out such a large sum of money if they did not believe the victim.
This incident happened four years ago; some of those players may even be on the National Hockey League right now. These accused men should be put on probation from playing hockey until there’s a full inquiry and the names of these men should be accessible to the public. The truth and these people taking ownership for their actions is more important than any hockey team winning a game.
