My Take: By David Rossiter

Vaccines are great. I’m pumped to get back to normal. Maybe it’s too early to be asking this, but what is the vaccine threshold that lets us ditch social distancing for good?
Justin Trudeau has said multiple times that every willing Canadian will be vaccinated by the end of 2021. A recent report from the “intelligence unit” of U.K. newspaper “The Economist” contradicts these claims.
The report says that Canada will not complete its immunization program until mid-2022, around six months after the United States, the U.K. and most E.U. nations. Canada would be in the same boat as countries like Australia and Japan, according to this report.
Personally, I’m betting on Mr. Trudeau keeping his promise, since he likely has an election looming. Either way, I would love to know what percentage of a vaccinated population brings us back to “normal”.
