My Take: By Gordon Lambie

There’s a lot to be disappointed about this Thanksgiving, but in the spirit of the holiday, I’m going to try to find the things I can be thankful for. There are tons of them when you get right down to it, but it’s hard not to let cynicism get in the way.
Celebrate that video call, even if you hate trying to talk to groups of people through a screen. Use the time you are not spending driving to relatives’ houses doing something new or inter-esting. Make a pie, then have as many slices as you like.
I try to be careful about preaching optimism because always telling people to look on the bright side can suppress discussion of important issues in the world, but I think that right now is a moment to try to find a little bit of light where you can.
