My Take: By Gordon Lambie

Next week is Quebec’s Teacher Appreciation Week, a tradition in the province since 1994. Although there are many teachers out there who deserve more appreciation than they ever get, this year in particular feels like one where we could all stand to go the extra mile in saying thank you.
School is tough enough, across all levels, when there isn’t a global pandemic flipping the world upside down in a slightly new way every week, and teachers are often the ones standing at the very heart of the educational, personal, social, and societal crises unfolding in that context daily.
Chances are it doesn’t take you very long to think of a teacher that made an impact on your life. Who were they, what did they do and, if they’re still around, how are they doing? Now might be a good time to send some love.
