I love going to the movies.
In elementary school the little Laurentian Theatre supplied free movie passes to students so often that I am amazed they’re still in business. In my teens, the Princess Theatre in Cowansville sent me passes to something like 20 movies without any explanation as to why. When I went to study in Montreal, I skipped at least a few classes to go watch movies in the cinema at the old Forum, and since coming to Sherbrooke I’ve had a great time going to La Maison du Cinema with friends and family.
The experience of going to see a film is all about getting outside of this world for a moment to relax, but there are things going on right now we can’t afford to ignore.
I love going to the movies, but you won’t see me there any time soon.
