My Take: By Gordon Lambie

In late February of 2020 I took the bus home one night. The trip sticks out to me now not just because it was different from my usual routine, but because when I got on the bus someone who got on with me was wearing a procedural mask.
I remember thinking to myself, “ is that really necessary?”
As it turns out, it was probably a good idea.
Looking back on the past year and looking ahead to the future, I think that it’s going to be important to consider and admit the places where we were wrong, both as individuals and as society. Some, like my mask judgement, are already obvious, but others will only become clear as time moves on.
It is something that we’re going to have to work on together, not to pass judgement but so we can do better next time.
