My Take: By Gordon Lambie

They’re still not the most comfortable things in the world, but I don’t really get the rush to drop masks. Setting aside the fact that this pandemic is still ongoing, there has been a lot of energy put into making masking work, and I’m not ready to just throw that all away.
At the one-year mark of masks or face coverings being required in all public places in Quebec, it feels like I have a spare just about everywhere. There are at least two in the bag I bring with me to work, and the little compartment that I used to think of as being for sunglasses in the car has become the mask box.
I can’t say that I enjoy wearing a mask over a long period of time, but it’s hard to ignore the lack of sinus infections in my house this year.
