The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was: The fourth wave.
I’ve lost count of the number of times that I took my kids to get Covid tests over the last year. I remember the first clearly, back in September of 2020, but there were so many false alarm coughs and sniffles after that they have all blended together. Even though every one came back negative, it’s not an experience that I am looking forward to repeating.
I expect to, though.
With the number of new cases across the province climbing daily, the start of the school year less than a month away, and no vaccine approved for children under 12, I have little doubt that this coming fall will include at least a few more trips to the local testing centre and the inevitable stress that follows.
It doesn’t really matter to me how much better things get until that’s not a concern any more.
