My Take: By Gordon Lambie

I know it’s an unpopular opinion: but I find elections interesting. Even coming from that starting point, though, it bugs me that election season has become the time when we hear about how everything a candidate has ever done is great and how their opponents are just the worst.
I would be much more willing to trust a commitment from someone who could admit to personal failure, or acknowledge the value of a project that didn’t come out of their own party’s back pocket.
Setting up a system where no one in a position of power can look at their own ideas and decisions through anything but the rosiest of glasses, and where the ideas of those in other parties cannot ever be considered even slightly valid skews the world so far outside of reality that it’s a wonder our country can function at all.
