My Take: By Jordan Dionne

Thanksgiving was always “just another day” for me. I grew up in a family that wouldn’t celebrate any holidays due to their religious beliefs so I never quite understood the meaning of the holiday. Yet, now it’s a day that I cherish beyond belief. I salivate at the idea of stuffing, turkey, gravy, and whatever else finds its way onto my plate. In the past couple of years, I have always ended up celebrating it with my close friends who welcomed my oblivious self with open arms and now I get to celebrate it in my own home with my fiancée. So while you hold onto that wishbone and
the food coma is settling in, remember that not everyone gets this opportunity whether it’s because of family, illness, or religion getting in the way and that this is the time to welcome thanks and appreciation.
