Just a coincidence that the new lockdown measures coincide with the arrival of St. Nick?
I thought maintaining the integrity of the healthcare system was essential.
I guess I was wrong. It’s more important to get a little something under the tree.
Not only does aligning pandemic management with Christmas once and for all confirm the holiday has been overtaken by wanton consumerism, it shows a complete disregard for health sector workers.
Leadership’s failure to recognize and relay the severity of the situation to the population has given license to the lax attitudes continuing to spread this virus.
So we have seven more days to shop, spread and incubate, and then enjoy a few weeks playing with our new toys.
Just remember, we won’t all be relaxing.
Some of us will be at home licking our wounds. Others could be in a much worse state.
