My Take: By Matthew McCully

The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week the topic was the vaccine rollout.

This vaccine rollout looks like the PM tripping on his way into a room carrying a tray full of syringes.
Like A for effort, but…
So now, this is the weirdest, scariest race in recent history.
In lane one, Covid variants, not great off the start line but they pick up speed quickly.
Lane two, Canada–forgot their running shoes, wearing a pair they planned to give to another country.
The racecourse is an elaborate minefield of promises and social programs teetering on the verge of collapse and finishing off with a lap through the court of public opinion. Naked.
No one said this would be easy.
But in fairness, many people said this would happen. The problem is no one listened.
And decision-makers, compensated handsomely for the responsibility of ensuring our safety, are putting a bow on a gong show and calling it Christmas.
