My Take: By Matthew McCully

By Matthew McCully

I will forever be of two minds when looking at the decisions made related to the management of this pandemic.
Part of me has no choice but to trust that the government and health officials are acting in the best interest of the population and while there may be missteps and backpedaling, we will surface at the end of this crisis with the tools to build a better world.
But another part of me wonders if decisions are being made to protect our system of governance and our economy rather than our people.
Right now we are subtly being encouraged to right the ship with spending to improve our financial course as a nation.
But with our movement limited, that ultimately means we are being asked to pay more for less.
What worries me most is that some of these decisions are a one-way trip.
